pray list for 2011 March
hi:
Spring is coming and our hardest time is going. Ron drove our van to Brandon last Friday and had a great lunch with Al, Darryl and us. We do appreciate the care and support from the District and feel so pleased to work with you. For us, C&MA is not only an organization we work for but also the family we live in.

update in February, 2011
March 2nd, 2011 This is our second winter in Canada. So far, we are surviving and experiencing God’s amazing grace and provision. First, we got Provincial Nominee approval in February so that Sharon could go to attend ESL class and apply temporary work permit. This really changed our regular life pattern and provided an opportunity of building connection with community. Second, Grand Valley Community Church generously provided me an office where I can do all my paper works and prepare my sermons efficiently. That does help me to balance my working and family life. Third, I had a car accident few weeks ago, and thankfully nobody hurt. Insurance paid me CAD 3650 for my unfixable van but Pastor Murray found another van for me, within CAD 4300 and mileage only 12.6K. It is amazing! Four, the Worker’s Retreat and the other retreat with a life group from McDiarmid Dr. Alliance last month really removed our fatigue and helped us to built up bonds with other pastors and local Christians. We still volunteer at Immigrant Service and Youth For Christ once a week to get known more people and invite them to attend our events and services. In addition to the English study group and cooking events, we’re also planning to have some interest group, such as dancing and guitar, and an English Bible study. |

Ministry Report on May 3rd
Thanks God! We’ve been here over 6 months and got along with Chinese workers in Maple Leaf better. Some of them appreciate our efforts and would like to do something to support the Chinese church. So far, we’ve received $1460 of offering. Last Sunday, there were 17 people attending our gathering and one family would like to introduce their friend working at Union to us and attend our service. We think it’s a good chance to touch more Chinese families via this Union worker. Please see the photos of the gathering through the links listed as below:

Ministry Report on April 15th
Thankfully, the potluck event went very successfully last Sunday. There were 58 people attending and most of them are the families we contacted through students study group and phonics class. Both of these two groups had good presentations and surprised their families and friends. After that, there were more Chinese families showing interests in our study group and VBS in upcoming summer. In addition, we received $140 for donation. It’s encouraging. Please see the photos of the event through the links listed as below:

Ministry Report on April 21st
It is grateful that we’ve been Canada for almost 6 months and been fitting into the surroundings very well. Meanwhile, we’ve touched over 187 Chinese people. Most of them accepted our helps or attended our gatherings and appreciated and agree with what we have done. We are planning to apply to the MPNP (Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program) in upcoming May. Last Sunday, there were 7 people attending our gathering and 6 committeemen attending our monthly meeting. In addition, we received $1320 of offering so far. It’s amazing. Please see the photos of the gathering and meeting through the links listed as below:

Ministry Report on Mar. 24
Thankfully, it’s getting warmer and Sharon and I have “survived” through the first winter in Canada. We are planning a series of outreaching activities and trying to invite other Alliance Churches to work together with us. In addition, we will start a Bible study for 4 Chinese people considering about being baptized from the coming Friday evening. Hopefully, we will have more members in Christ’s body in the coming summer. Last Sunday, there were 4 people attending our Sunday service.

Potluck Event on March 14, 2010
It’s amazing that we’ve been here for almost 5 months and our presence has been significant for local Chinese people. During the past two weeks, Maple Leaf stared hiring new workers and I had been busy in interpreting for Chinese interviewees and contacted over 10 families. Last Sunday, Rev. Francis Tam, the executive secretary of CCACA, came to visit us and shared gospel with 29 Chinese, 22 adults and 7 children in our potluck event. We also found that there are four potential families attending our gatherings continually and tried to follow up them. Please see the photos of the event as below:
